Can I hire a motorbike in QLD?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We rent motorcycles right across Queensland from our Sunshine Coast base, with door-to-door delivery available in the metro area. Whether you live in Brisbane, the Gold Coast or are flying in from interstate or overseas, you can book a bike online and pick it up from Maroochydore (or have it delivered). A full car licence lets you ride our 50cc mopeds; anything bigger needs a valid motorcycle (RE or R) licence.

Can I hire a motorcycle on the Sunshine Coast?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely — that's our home turf. We're based in Maroochydore and hire out Harley-Davidson, Indian, Triumph, Victory, BMW, Royal Enfield and Yamaha motorcycles, plus 50cc and 125cc mopeds. You can collect from us or choose door-to-door delivery across the Sunshine Coast, including Noosa, Mooloolaba, Alexandra Headland, Coolum Beach, Caloundra, Buderim and the hinterland.

Can I hire a motorbike in Noosa?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We deliver motorcycles and mopeds to Noosa, Noosaville, Tewantin and Noosa Heads. You can ride straight out along the coast or head up into the Noosa hinterland — one of the best touring loops in south-east Queensland.

Can I hire a motorbike in Mooloolaba or Maroochydore?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Both suburbs sit within our free door-to-door delivery zone. We can drop a bike at your hotel, Airbnb or holiday apartment in Mooloolaba, Maroochydore or Alexandra Headland and collect it again at the end of your hire.

Can I hire a motorbike in Coolum Beach?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Coolum Beach, Peregian Beach and Coolum/Peregian Springs are all within our Sunshine Coast delivery area. Just select door-to-door delivery at checkout and enter your Coolum address.

Can I hire a Harley-Davidson on the Sunshine Coast or in QLD?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We have Harley-Davidson cruisers and touring bikes available for hire, including the Softail Low Rider. Harley hire is popular for coastal cruising, hinterland runs, weddings, photo shoots and bucket-list rides — book a Harley online or call us to check what's available for your dates.

Are there any Indian motorcycles for hire in Australia?

Accepted Answer

Yes — we're one of the few operators in Australia offering Indian Motorcycle hire. Our Indian is available for full-day, overnight, multi-day, weekly and monthly rental from the Sunshine Coast, with delivery across south-east Queensland. Riders must be 30 or over with an open motorcycle licence to hire the Indian.

Are there Indian motorcycles for hire in QLD or south-east Queensland?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our Indian is based on the Sunshine Coast and can be delivered across SEQ, including Brisbane, the Gold Coast and the hinterland. Get in touch early — Indian hire books out fast, especially over weekends and events.

Question 9

Can I ride a 50cc moped in QLD on just a car licence?

Accepted Answer

Yes. In Queensland you can legally ride a 50cc (or smaller) moped on a standard Class C car licence — including learner, P1, P2 and open — as long as the scooter is 50cc or less and capped at 50 km/h. No motorcycle licence, no extra test. Our Milan 50cc mopeds meet these rules, so if you've got a car licence you're good to ride.

Do I need a motorcycle licence to hire a scooter?

Accepted Answer

Only for anything over 50cc. Our Milan 50cc mopeds can be ridden on a car licence (21+). The Milan 125cc scooter needs an RE or REO motorcycle licence. If you're not sure which licence covers which bike, just message us with your licence type and we'll point you to the right ride.

Question 11

Can a learner or P-plater ride a moped?

Accepted Answer

Yes. As long as you hold a valid Class C car licence — learner, P1, P2 or open — you can ride one of our 50cc mopeds on Queensland roads. The one catch: you can't carry a passenger on a moped while on a car licence.

Question 12

What's the minimum age to hire a motorcycle?

Accepted Answer

For Indian, Harley-Davidson and BMW bikes the minimum age is 30. For every other motorcycle and scooter the minimum is 25. Our 50cc mopeds are available to riders 21 and over holding a car licence. All riders need a valid licence and ID.

What licence do I need to rent a motorcycle?

Accepted Answer

A full, unrestricted (open) motorcycle licence (or a recognised overseas equivalent) for any bike over 50cc. Our LAMS-approved bikes can be ridden on a restricted (RE) licence. For 50cc mopeds a standard car licence is enough. Bring your physical licence to pickup — we need to sight it before handing over the keys.

Can I pick up or drop off a motorcycle on a weekend?

Accepted Answer

Yes — you can pick up and drop off on Saturday and Sunday. Weekend pickup and return is available by arrangement, so you're not locked into weekday hours. Just note it in your booking or call us to confirm your time.

Is riding gear included with the rental?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Helmets come with every hire, and jackets and gloves are available as add-ons. We hire proper riding gear with all our bike rentals so you can ride safely and legally without needing to bring your own.

Question 16

How much is the security bond and how is it held?

Accepted Answer

A refundable security bond applies to every hire (commonly $1,000–$1,500 depending on the bike). We take the bond as a pre-authorisation on your card at pickup — the funds are held, not charged, and released back to you after the bike is returned and inspected. No cash bonds.

Do you offer door-to-door delivery of the motorbike?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Door-to-door delivery is available across the Sunshine Coast metro area and regional centres for a small fee. Select the delivery add-on when booking and enter your pickup address — we bring the bike to your door, hotel or holiday let.

Question 18

Can international visitors hire a motorcycle in Queensland?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Overseas riders with a valid motorcycle licence from their home country (and an International Driving Permit if your licence isn't in English) can hire from us. Bring your licence, IDP and passport to pickup. Our 50cc mopeds can even be ridden on an overseas car licence.

How long can I hire a motorcycle for?

We offer 4-hour, full-day, 24-hour, multi-day, weekly and monthly hire. Whether it's a half-day beach cruise or a multi-week tour up the coast, we've got a rental period to fit — and longer hires attract better daily rates.

Where can I ride a hired motorbike from the Sunshine Coast?

Accepted Answer

Everywhere. Popular loops include the Noosa hinterland, Maleny and Montville, the Glass House Mountains, the Caboolture-to-Caloundra coastal run, and longer trips up to Bundaberg, Hervey Bay or the Great Barrier Reef. Many riders also use the Sunshine Coast as a start or end point for a lap of Australia.
