Yes. Sunshine Coast Scooter Hire rents 50cc Milan mopeds that you can ride on a standard Australian car driver's licence — no motorcycle licence is required. Riders must be 21 years or over. Our 50cc mopeds are twist-and-go automatic, so there are no gears or clutch to worry about.

No. In Queensland you can ride a 50cc moped on a standard car (C class) licence. A motorcycle licence (RE, REO or Open) is only required for larger scooters such as our 125cc Milan, which needs an RE / REO / P1 / P2 motorcycle licence as a minimum.

Milan 50cc moped hire starts at $55 for 4 hours, $75 for a full day, $95 for 24 hours, $65 per day for multi-day hire, and $300 for 7 days. A refundable $500 security bond applies. An optional Peace of Mind (POM) insurance upgrade is available for $50, which reduces your excess from $2,000 to $1,500 and includes 24/7 roadside assistance.

Scooters and mopeds are available from our Buderim depot at 3/25 Kayleigh Drive, Buderim (off Wises Rd), which is a short ride to Maroochydore, Mooloolaba, Alexandra Headland, Caloundra and Noosa. We serve the whole Sunshine Coast region from Noosa in the north to Caloundra in the south.

Yes. Our Buderim depot is minutes from Maroochydore, Mooloolaba and Alexandra Headland, making it the closest scooter hire option for these coastal hubs. You can ride the esplanade at Mooloolaba, cruise Cotton Tree and Maroochydore Beach, and beach-hop along the coast on a single 50cc moped.

The minimum age to hire a moped or scooter from Sunshine Coast Scooter Hire is 21 years. Riders must hold a valid driver's licence — a car licence is sufficient for the 50cc Milan mopeds.

Yes. A helmet is included with every moped and scooter hire. We recommend riders also bring covered footwear. Optional add-ons such as a jacket and gloves are available at checkout.

The Milan 50cc mopeds are single-rider only, with a passenger capacity up to 110kg. For two-up riding you would need a larger motorcycle from our main fleet. The 50cc is perfect for solo coastal cruising and beach-hopping.

The Milan 50cc moped has a fuel economy of around 2L per 100km and can travel up to 200km on a single tank, making it one of the most fuel-efficient ways to explore the Sunshine Coast. Fuel is included — you just return the moped with a similar level of fuel.

All Milan mopeds and scooters are fully automatic twist-and-go with push-button start — no gears, no clutch, no manual operation. They are extremely easy to ride, even for first-timers, on the flat coastal roads around Maroochydore, Mooloolaba and Noosa.

Moped and scooter hire is depot pickup and return only from our Buderim depot at 3/25 Kayleigh Drive, Buderim (off Wises Rd). This keeps our prices low. The depot is a short ride to Maroochydore, Mooloolaba, Alexandra Headland, Caloundra and Noosa.

A 50cc moped can be ridden on a car licence, tops out around 50km/h and is ideal for flat coastal roads and short trips. A 125cc scooter is faster, better for longer trips and highway riding, but requires an RE / REO / P1 / P2 motorcycle licence. We offer both the Milan 50cc and the Milan 125cc for hire.

For short trips and coastal exploring, yes. At $55 for 4 hours and $75 for a full day, a 50cc moped is significantly cheaper than renting a car or using rideshare, and you'll spend only a few dollars on fuel. It's also the easiest way to find beachfront parking at Mooloolaba and Maroochydore.
